FUNDAY FRIDAY!

It's Friday! PRAISE THE LORD! This week has felt extremely long and tiring. I'm glad its the weekend!

Since its Friday, that means its time for High Five for Friday!

1) Our Nursing class is done with KAPLAN test review. [Can I get an amen?]

Those are my mommies, Tiff and Laura. Love them!

2) I bought Baby Lips by Maybelline lip balm today. It looks really pink in the tube but its the perfect shade of pink once you put it on! I think I'm gonna lurvee it! The tube is also cute as you can see. ;)

3) I'm getting my hair highlighted tonight...that's good right? I really, really want to go light brown but I'm scared of how it will look. My hair is turning brown anyways so I might as well just dye it...maybe?

4) I plan on getting caught up on all my DVR shows this weekend. I'm deprived on t.v. time due to studying! I've been missing my Hart of Dixie!

My love is hottie Wade. He's right beside Rachel Bilson (Zoe) on the left.

5) I believe I'm going to Louisville tomorrow to see Joyce Meyer! That lady can preach!
Happy FRIDAY! :)

Let's be honest...

So, let's be honest here. That's what blogging is really all about, right? Its a way for me to share when I'm on top of the world or to share those days when I want to crawl in a hole and hibernate. Even if no one else reads my post, its a way for me to look back and see my life in every stage, pretty or not.

So,

Lets be honest...

  • I'm beyond tired of studying for my exit test for nursing school. HESI, NCLEX, SAUNDERS = AHH! (Unless you're in nursing school or have ever been in nursing school, those test I mentioned are foreign. sorry.) My brain is trying to remember and apply so much from two years that I'm at the "wanting to hibernate" point. I have to keep reminding myself that by this time next week, I will be done. Done. Done. Done.

  • My friends and family are pretty much the greatest. They have been the ones encouraging me these past few weeks to keep on moving forward and to not give up, break down, and cry. (Sounds like what I sorta want to do, lol.) But seriously, they rock.

  • Your prayers are what's keeping me going!

  • I'm tired of talking about school on this post...new subject. I want a puppy. Look at these cuties.

  •  I'm pretty sure my mom and I are addicted to Cajun Chicken Pasta.  I'm actually about to go fix us some for supper. We probably eat it once a week. So fast to cook and so good! Try it!

  • I am addicted to Sonic Sunrises. I discovered this drink years ago and they actually donut even have it on the menu board anymore. Its a mix of orange juice, sprite, and maybe some cherry something? Seriously, its the bomb. But don't even get me started on the sizes that this drink comes in. rip off.

  • I need to get back to studying but this is so much more fun! I promise, I really am about to start back... gah.

  • I'm excited for YAC 3 in May! It's so close and I love spending the weekend with some of my favorite people while we serve the Lord. It doesn't get much better then that.

I hope the rest of your week is filled with yummy Sonic drinks and no studying!

high five for friday

Its Friday, finally! This has been quite the week. It hasn't been exciting, fun, or one I really want to remember. None-the-less, it is Friday so I'm sure I can find 5 (good or bad) things about this week.

1) Only two weeks left of schooollll. AHH! The real world is closer then I think..hopefully. Nursing school has been a ride to say the least but that is a post in its self. Prayers are DEFINITELY needed as I finish up these last few weeks. Please continue to lift up my nursing buddies and I as we continue on!

2) This week has honestly been ALL about putting my trust in God and learning to be content in every area of my life...including the ones I don't like. I often like to "trust" God with my life when things are going my way. (Hint: That's not how it goes.) He has been teaching me to take each day one at a time. I often get SO caught up in the coming days that I forget that I'm not even promised tomorrow. Chill, Hannah.

.
Note to self: Remember this.

3) On a bright note, I went and looked at apartments this week. WHOO. I found a really nice apartment/townhouse that is in the perfect spot. Now, all I need is money. Story of my life, huh? The people who live in it now are moving out in the beginning of May. So it could be mine in May, June, aww who knows?! Either way, its too good of a deal to pass up.(P.S. Want to know what I'm most excited about when I get an apartment? Hanging a wreath on the front door.. Nerd alert)
cuteCute wreaths for fall

4) Ive studied all week. Seriously, my brain is fried. The end.

5) I found this gem on Pinterest sometime ago. swoon. lurve.

high five for friday- great week!

My week was fan-freakin-tastic. It was a long, tiring week but so worth it. Lets get to the point...

1) We found out that after 1 year, 2 months, and 1 day that...MY MOM IS CANCER FREE! So happy and relieved. Maintenance treatments continue until 2013. I got her a cookie cake, yummy jellybeans, and a home- made card to celebrate!

2) My KONY 2012 bracelet finally came in the mail. Ive waited over a month for this sucker, no lie.

3) I finished my preceptorship this week, 120 hours. I LOVED it and I learned so much thanks to my wonderful preceptor and the other nurses. One of the aides gave me this card with a pin that says "Nurse." How sweet was that?! It was totally unexpected and I loved her thoughtfulness. We all had a lot of fun and some good laughs at 4 am.

The note says, " Thank you for all your help and lending a hand with my patients. You are an awesome student and will be a wonderful nurse. Please come work with is so that we wont miss you. The party starts at 3:30 am in room ***. Thanks!

We had some crazy times that night and spent over 2 hours in one room. Fun stuff.

4) NO MORE PAPERWORK! Enough said.

5) Last but not least, Easter was Sunday! Here are a few pics from the day. (ps. ignore the beyond tired eyes. I had worked night shift and was running off an hour of sleep)

high five for friday, friday, friday.

Now that you are singing Rebecca Black's Friday, my job here is done. Even though that song was terrible, its so catchy that you cant help but sing.

My top five favorite things from this week are:

1) FRO YO! If you've been around me for anytime, you know that food is the way to my heart. Pitiful. Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is one of my all time favorite yogurt places with Sweet CeCe's pulling a close second. I was always that person that said, "I don't like frozen yogurt." I tried it...I'm in love.

Ohhh, so good. And it has a white chocolate drizzle. lurrve.

2) Cajun Chicken Pasta = Success! Go here for the recipe! (Like I said above, food is the way to my heart.)

3) Hanging out with this little angel...Oh, how I love her.

We both have scrunchy noses  ;)

4) Tonight (& Saturday night) I have my Preceptorship and I'm getting so close to the end...Only 3 days left after this weekend! Homeee stretchhhh.

5) Rest. I've had much needed rest this week. Ive had time to:

- sit on my couch and watch tv (ellen degeneres and abc family!)
- go outside and enjoy the sun
- sleep in until 11 am :]
- tan
- get my hair cut
- do school related 'stuff'
- delete the boohookuls of emails in my school and personal account (I like to make up words..boohookuls = a lot, enormous, etc)
- have somewhat of a social life via text messages..hey, I'll take what I can get these days.
- spend time in the word and in my devotionals
- cook
- clean out my closet ( I know it doesn't sound like rest but being the organized/OCD freak that I am, I didn't mind it)

I've had an overall good week and I look forward to see what God has in mind for me in the upcoming week!

I would love to hear your 5 favorite things from the week. Follow me and leave a comment!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Tonight for dinner I decided to whip up this Cajun Chicken Pasta. I had never made it before but it looked good so I thought I'd give it a try. I got the recipe from Lauren at FMGD. I altered it a little but it turned out FABULOUS! It almost taste just like Chicken Scampi from Olive Garden...can it be?! Another added bonus, it only took about 30 minutes to fix. Splendid!

[[Sorry for the pitiful quality..my camera wasn't wanting to work with the lighting.]]

Here's all you need:

  • angel hair pasta- recipe calls for 4 oz but it all depends on how many people you are feeding
  • chicken- depends on how many people you are feeding; i used 3 small chicken breast
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 green pepper
( I found a package that had all 3 peppers already cut up. The easier, the better)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic (fresh or powder) - I used powder
  • grated Parmesan for topping

Directions:

1) Cook chicken in pan until browned (about 10-12 minutes)
2) Cook pasta according to instructions on the box, about 8 minutes, then drain.
3) In medium pan, add red, yellow, and green peppers into butter and garlic.
4) Add heavy cream, lemon pepper, salt, Cajun seasoning, and cooked chicken. Heat throughout on medium heat.
5) Add cooked angel hair pasta, toss and heat throughout.
6) Sprinkle with Parmesan.
7) EAT!

This recipe can be altered in many ways. I used a little more seasoning(salt/pepper, lemon pepper, Cajun seasoning) at the end but it all depends on how you want it to taste. You can also leave out the chicken and add more veggies (broccoli, asparagus, etc.)

Let me know if you try it or have any questions!

Coffee Mug Swap

Suzels Says

While reading some of the blogs that I follow, I ran across Suzels Says blog. It is such a cute little blog and she is having a Coffee Mug Swap.Basically, you send her your email, name, mailing address and blog URL and she hooks you up with another blogger to exchange a coffee mug with. Its like pen pals except with blogs and coffee mugs! After she receives my email, she will send me a fellow bloggers URL and I will explore their blog to see what they like and sorta get a feel of their personality. After that, I receive a mug from them and they receive a mug from me. How cool?! I cant wait to see who my "coffee swapper" will be. :]
